PLACES that serve alcohol are a paradise for discovery – of people’s character, their secrets and fantasies. They are the regular haunts of boasters, fun seekers, sorrow drowners, even journalists and spies and their sources. Scions of Bacchus is an attempt by me to interpret in a small way the spirit of such establishments.

This was written in the 1980s and underwent many self-edits before being published in a PDF booklet in 2018-19
